Detection of small boats on the seas
The aim of the project is to develop methods for detecting small vessels in satellite images and models enabling the prediction of their trajectory, vessel type and estimated number of people or cargo on board.
The project focuses on using satellite data to detect and analyze small vessels in maritime areas. The main goal is to develop algorithms enabling the automatic detection of small vessels, which are often difficult to identify in standard maritime monitoring systems.
Automated detection of small vessels using satellite imagery and real-time trajectory prediction with cargo estimation
Analysis of historical maritime traffic and departure patterns to identify suspicious activities and origin points
The project is being carried out by an international research team led by the UK Sailing Academy, in which AGH STARS members are actively involved in analytical work. The solutions being developed have potential applications in maritime monitoring, navigation safety, and the analysis of marine activity.
